The medical transcriptionist in me

I'm almost a year in the medical transcription industry. I have no medical background whatsoever, and I never imagined that I'll be in this field! But here I am. So far, hmm, I'm enjoying my work as an MT. I mean, I love my job. The schedule is flexible and I get to learn a lot of new things everyday. I must admit that I still have a lot to learn, and in the process, I would want to impart my knowledge to those who are in the medical transcription industry, or is planning on embarking in this field.

The medical transcription industry, among others, has taken a hit from the recession in the past year or so. Still,  I believe that it will turn and new opportunities will pave their way in the next few months.

Follow me to my new-found career! Btw, you can check out my other blog at mtjobsph.com

  3. Did you know you took over the blog name for what was once a very interesting medical transcriptionist's blog? There haven't been updates for about a year sadly. Now I know why. I saw there was finally an update and...found you. Sadly disappointed.

    But best of luck to you in your MT career. I may or may not peek back from time to time to see if this can blossom into an interesting MT blog again.

  4. I hate to be rude, but it seems like your grammar, tenses, and general English skills seem a little subpar for an individual making a living as an MT?

    I really haven't got a clue. I wish I can make this blog as interesting as the previous one. Thanks for dropping by, even if by chance. lol

    @Wendy
    Thanks for pointing that out. I take all feedback positively and constructively. I know that an MT should be one of those who are good in grammar - I hope I can be that kind of an MT someday. For now, I'm still in the learning part of the process.

    Normally, when I blog, I just type in what comes to mind, and doesn't review my post - very unlikely of an MT, but I guess this blog also is a reflection of who I am and what I do. I'll do that in my next posts. Thanks again.

  10. I've been looking for work-at-home solutions also. I just recently began a medical transcription course as a backup job and possibly a career, depending on how the market for MT work goes. I'm only at my first couple of weeks of class, but I'm already loving it. I've started a blog also, The MT Effort, to track my progress and share my experiences, and also to provide a current informational tool to people who are also thinking about joining the world of Medical Transcription.

    Anyway, good luck with your new blog!
